Lincoln Motel Sign
Here's the latest addition to my collection of Route 66 artifacts. My Dad found this in Yukon Ok. The owner had rescued it from lying bent and crumpled in a bar ditch east of Chandler (where the Lincoln Motel still proudly stands) about 12 years ago. It is wonderfully patinaed (meaning that its all flaking and faded and bent up...but we like them that way) and fragile, so I built a frame and backing for it, and securely affixed it to the side of my gallery under the carport, where it will recieve some protection from the elements, and be visible for travelers to enjoy when they visit me.
